The National Football League unveiled the new Nike uniforms for all 32 teams yesterday in New York City. For those who were expecting a complete overhaul of the new uniforms, sorry to say but that didn’t happen. A total of 31 teams chose to keep their uniforms just the way they were when Reebok was the sponsor. The only thing that changed for the new uniforms was the type of material it’s made out of and they look more form fitting to the players body.
However, one team did chose for Nike to do a complete makeover of its uniform. The Seattle Seahawks were the only team that applied for a redesign. And in my opinion, they look pretty cool. Nike did not go over-the-top with this one. The NFL’s newest apparel maker chose to give the Seahawks a new look with some flare, but not too much flare. Nike did not go the University of Oregon route with a full out over-the-top style of uniform. Granted it have been pretty cool to see what Nike could do with the new uniforms if they wanted to make them Oregon style.
Seattle’s decision for a makeover separates them from the rest of the league. I personally believe that this is a good thing for the Seahawks. And now that other NFL franchises have seen the new look Seattle Seahawks, I think that we may see another change of uniforms in the near future.
