Today is just one of those days where you don’t want to do anything, especially if your favorite team just lost in the Super Bowl to the New York (New Jersey) Giants last night. This is why I did not want to make any predictions for the game last night. Look at the outcome of the game and you will understand. The only thing that I got right was the over/under for the game, which was 55.5. The under was my pick, but I did not fair so well with predicting the outcome. My New England Patriots failed to stop Eli Manning and the rest of the Giants offense. I have many things to say about last night’s game but to be honest, I don’t feel like talking about it. The Patriots lost, plain and simple. I’m not about to make any excuses because it won’t change the outcome of the game now.
Some of the commercials were alright. However, I was not overly impressed. The Doritos commercial with the baby being sling-shot out by the grandma to steal the Doritos from the kid was in my opinion the best one. The National Anthem was sung by Kelly Clarkson and to be honest with you, I was not listening. I was paying more attention to a cell phone which had a stop watch running. The over/under for the National Anthem time was one minute and 34 seconds. And guess what? If you bet on that you didn’t lose any money. That’s right. It was a push. Clarkson’s rendition of the National Anthem clocked in at 1:34. Talk about timing. The halftime show was pretty good with all of the cool special effects. But what do you expect, it’s the Super Bowl. All in all I do not really want to talk, write, hear, or see anything about the game last night. It’s over.
To top all of that off Duke lost by 4 to Miami in overtime yesterday at Cameron Indoor Stadium, and fell to number 9 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll this week. That makes two losses this year at Cameron. Completely unacceptable. At least the Bruins demolished the Capitals and the Celtics clobbered the Grizzles yesterday. Now that football season is over, bring on March Madness. Not to mention pitchers and catchers report to spring training in 13 days. Go Red Sox!
